A place to grow into adult life.

The Village is a residential community for neurodivergent adolescents and adults designed around a simple idea: moving towards community living should be a gradual process, not a crisis response.

Why The Village

What comes after home?

For many neurodivergent people, the transition to independent living happens only when circumstances leave no other choice a caregiver becomes unable to continue, a crisis hits.

The Village gives individuals and families the opportunity to prepare for that transition long before it becomes an emergency.

Needing support should not mean giving up the possibility of a life of your own.

The Village exists because we believe neurodivergent adolescents and adults deserve opportunities to grow into adult lives with choice, contribution, relationships, community and the support they need. Not when a crisis happens. Before.

The Weekly Model

Nothing happens overnight.

The Village does not begin with a permanent move.

Individuals spend time at The Village each week, returning home as part of an intentional transition model.

This creates space to gradually build:

environment
Familiarity with the environment
routines
Daily living routines
self management
Self-management skills
relationships
Relationships and community participation
g1
Confidence in being away from home
family
Confidence for families in letting go, gradually

The pace can evolve with the individual.

The destination is not separation from home. It is greater choice about where and how a person lives.

Life at The Village

A week that feels like life.

Residents take part in the ordinary business of living – routines, meals, responsibilities, relationships – with support adjusted as confidence grows. Community participation is part of everyday life, not separate from it. The goal isn’t simply to live in a community. It’s to be part of one.

For Families

A transition families can grow into too.

The Village creates time – time to try, to adjust, to build trust. There’s no expectation that families must suddenly hand over responsibility for an entire life. The transition happens gradually, together.

Our Belief

Needing support should not mean giving up the possibility of a life of your own.

The Village exists because we believe neurodivergent adolescents and adults deserve opportunities to grow into adult lives with choice, contribution, relationships, community and the support they need. Not when a crisis happens.

But, before.
